Classification of skin type / Selecting the appropriate product

Modern research proved that the classification of skin into 'dry', 'normal' or 'oily' is extremely simplified, inaccurate and sometimes is leads to a rough diagnosis and as a result to a mistaken care. These three basic categories do not describe the slight differences of every individual skin. For a complete and accurate definition of the skin characteristics, it is needed to determine the basic and the special type of it. More specifically, for the determination of the special type the following parameters are examined on a skin profile questionnaire:

  • looseness
  • wrinkles
  • toneless-pale skin
  • freckles-spots
  • acne
  • oversensitive skin,

and for the determination of the basic type using a skin indicator measurer the following parameters are examined:

  • oiliness or dryness
  • skin hydration

The skin diagnosis should be done on every season change as well as in cases of hormonal changes related to stress, pregnancy, aging and certain medication.
The changes each time determine significally the appropriate skin care thus its imporvement.
